I'm not sure I agree with this. I'm about to buy my Plaid and Boards of Canada albums for the 3rd time because I don't like how iTunes is handling them. I want to re-rip them in ALAC now that HDDs are bigger. This despite the fact that this music is available on Spotify.

Although I have not purchased many of ZEDD's songs, I would not know about him without the auto-suggest feature of Pandora. I consider Pandora and Spotify to be music discovery services. I do worry about the day when CD versions are not available because I still think that AAC sounds like sh*t, especially at the nitrates used by streaming services.
